ADRIAN CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

MARCH 11, 2016

 

OPEN THE MEETING WITH PRAYER BY COUNCIL MEMBER WYNOLA SMITH.

PLEDGE TO THE FLAG EVERYONE IN ATTENDANCE.

 

Approval of Minutes for March 14, 2016 regular Council Meeting approved. Motion my by Council Member Suzanne Hutchinson and second by Council Member Wynola Smith with one apposed Council Member Marilyn Mimbs

Approval of Bank Reconciliation for General Account January, 2016, February, 2016 and March, 2016 Motion made by Council Member Suzanne Hutchinson and second by Council Member Wynola Smith and carried by all unanimously

Approval of Water Account Reconciliation for March, 2016 Motion made by Council Member Wynola Smith and second by Council Member Larry Sumner and carried by all unanimously

Approval of Court Account Reconciliation for March, 2016 Motion made by Council Member Wynola Smith and second by Council Member Larry Sumner and carried by all unanimously

Approval of Court monies being taken every month based on Fund Calculations from Court ware program Motion made by Council Member Jesse Yawn and second by Council Member Suzanne Hutchinson and carried by all unanimously

Approval of Emanuel County SPLOST Fund Reconciliation for March, 2016 made by Council Member Suzanne Hutchinson and second by Council Member Wynola Smith and carried by all unanimously

Approval of Johnson County SPLOST Fund Reconciliation for March, 2016 made by Council Member Suzanne Hutchinson and second by Council Member Larry Sumner and carried by all unanimously

Approval of Recreation Account Reconciliation for March, 2016 made by Council Member Marilyn Mimbs and second by Council Member Jesse Yawn and carried by all unanimously

Approval of Water Savings Account Reconciliation for March, 2016 made by Council Member Wynola Smith and second by Council Member Suzanna Hutchinson and carried by all unanimously

We had an update from Allgood where they are increasing our spraying by four dollars.

PSA tax update we have all properties in the paper for the tax sale on May 3, 2016

Well update: Pipe will be put down starting this week for the new well

Dump Truck: Some repair has been done but needs more repairs

Jaws: Given to us by Dublin free, just needs lights and minor repair

2010 Dodge: Needs more repair due to a lifter tapping

Employee Lunch breaks have been changed Mandatory set time of 30 minutes no clock out required. Council Member Marilyn Mimbs made a motion and second by Council Member Wynola Smith and carried by all unanimously

Council approved the Emanuel Co. Chambers Commerce annual payment of $125.00 with Council Member Suzanne Hutchinson making motion and Council Member Wynola Smith second and carried by all unanimously

Training for Frank and Johnny was approved with Council Member Jesse Yawn making a motion to send Frank and Johnny to May 10-12 water training and second by Council Member Marilyn Mimbs and carried by all unanimously

Training for Loriann was approved with Council Member Suzanna Hutchinson making a motion to send Loriann to training for Human Resources and Court ware classes and second by Council Member Wynola Smith and carried by all unanimously

Spring Training event for Mayor Kim Adams and Council Member Jesse Yawn: Council Member Marilyn Mimbs made a motion for Mayor and Council Member to go to Spring Training with Council Member Suzanne Hutchinson second the motion carried by Jesse Yawn with 2 council members abstained.

Unsightly lots in Adrian/Old Buildings: Jose is to issue a warning on old building and empty lots, they will have 30 days then the citations will be issued.

Camera/Monitor in City Hall: Mayor has requested that after all monies have been allotted for SPLOST if there is anything left please let us get the monitor for City Hall and outside of City Hall.

Keys for the office: No vote

Frank has requested that the Council Members check on not putting Fluoride into our water system seeing as some counties/cities are doing away with it because we get fluoride in many different ways already. State is changing some of the rules. More on this at a later time

Police Department: Chris is in the hospital and is getting better it is a process.

Safety Department: Safety officer Pam Drew gave information on class that was given to the workers and who all participated

Recreation Department: They will be looking for people to help with the department so that we will have a great year.

Water/Street: Trying to get all the limbs up around town, and mow all the grass.
